Manufacturing Method of Alloy Hubs

There are three manufacturing methods for aluminum alloy hub of high pressure sodium lamp: gravity casting, forging and low pressure precision casting. 1. Gravity casting method uses gravity to pour aluminium alloy solution into the mould. After forming, it can be processed and polished by lathe, and then the production can be completed. The manufacturing process is relatively simple, no precision casting process is needed, low cost and high production efficiency, but it is easy to produce bubbles (sand holes), uneven density and insufficient surface smoothness. Geely has a considerable number of models with this method of production hub, mainly early production models, now the new models have been replaced with new hub. 2. Forging process of whole aluminium ingot is directly extruded on the die by a 1000-ton press. The advantages are uniform density, smooth and meticulous surface of finished eaves and trenches, thin and light hub wall, the highest material strength, more than 30% higher than casting method. However, due to the need for better production equipment, and the yield of finished products is only 50-60%. The cost is high. 3. Low pressure precision casting method is used in 0.1Mpa low pressure precision casting. This casting method has good formability, clear outline, uniform density and smooth surface. It can achieve high strength, light weight and control cost, and the finished product is more than 90%. The integrated cooker is the mainstream manufacturing method of high quality aluminum alloy hub at present.
